In New York State, a person seeking to start a LLC needs to fill out certain forms as well as have business information(legal name, address, etc) and $250. The form Articles of Organization, form number DOS 1336, requires a $200 dollar fee while the Certificate of Publication requires a $50 dollar fee. Beyond that they have the option to pay for the Availability of Name, costing $5, Reservation of Name, costing $20, and the Expedited Handling Fee, costing between $25 and $150.
